I have returned!
My dears, I am so very happy to inform you all that I have returned to the lovely, lovely town of Tumblr, and that I am quite anxious to see my old friends and be introduced to new friends!
And shall I reveal where I have been in the meantime? …Perhaps, my dears, but all in good time.
I am, &c,
E.W.
askmarycrawford asked: Miss Woodhouse, do not worry about it. I am sure we will find great pleasure in meeting Mr. Woodhouse and Mr. Knightly. I find it completely generous of you to volunteer your services to the poor. Do not worry about us, we shall be perfectly fine.
I am glad to hear it. I have promised Mr. Knightley that we will all go to Donwell tomorrow; his estate is the most handsome one here. It is but a mile’s walk, and I daresay you will want to see the country.
askmrknightley-deactivated20120 asked: Of course, Emma. You know how much I enjoy being of service to you. I will gladly entertain your new friends for as long as you need, and keep the burden off your dear father's shoulders.
My infinite thanks to you, Mr. Knightley. I know you will make yourself very agreeable.
askmarycrawford asked: Miss Woodhouse, I am so excited that I shall be with you in an hour or so. My brother and I are very excited to meet you and see Hartfield!
How very happy we shall all be! But I must inform you, though I regret it infinitely, that I have an engagement to visit the poor this evening. I make a very poor hostess, I know. However, you shall have Papa and Mr. Knightley for company. I do hope they will prove to be amiable companions, and I will contrive to get away as soon as I can.
askmrknightley-deactivated20120 asked: My dear Emma. May I ask when you next intend to visit Donwell Abbey? It's been quite lonesome here without you coming to speak to me about your next matchmaking plot.
Mr. Knightley! I have been meaning to request your help. As you know, our friends Mr. and Miss Crawford are paying me a visit at Hartfield this evening. I am troubled to say that I have an engagement to visit the poor this evening. It is most distressing that I will not be here to receive them properly, but I do believe you and Papa will do very well. You will oblige me in agreeing to entertain them, will you not? I shall be here for all of Friday, however, and we may ALL go to Donwell.
askmrsbennet asked: Hello hello Miss Woodhouse! You will please excuse my complete rudeness for not getting back to you earlier. I have had quite a lengthy illness and there has been so much activity that I can barely see straight at times. Do forgive me, dear. However I am pleased to hear that you are a much a matchmaker as myself! People seem (my own Mr. Bennet is guilty of this) to think that our efforts are no good at times. To them I say, see how well matched you are then! Yours affectionately, Mrs Bennet, etc
Do not worry yourself, Mrs. Bennet, I am not offended in the least, and I do hope you have recovered handsomely. It is comforting to know, ma’am, that I am not the only person in the world who thinks so. Matchmaking is a delicate art; naturally, not everyone may possess such a talent or even such an understanding! YOU have made several handsome matches for your daughters; as such, I am only an amateur at present, but I do pride myself on the match I made for Mr. and Mrs. Weston…How happy they are!
askmarycrawford asked: My dear Miss Woodhouse, I do prefer your second choice, as he is not a clergyman. I am familiar with his character and am completely for it!
I was hoping you would find that agreeable, for he is the very gentleman to fall in love with!
I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE IS GETTING SO UPSET
WHY CAN’T PEOPLE LET ME MANIPULATE THEM IN PEACE?
Indeed, I am puzzled exceedingly.
